Intracellular NAD Test (Australian Stock)
Description
Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide ('NAD') has been identified as arguably one of the most important therapeutic targets for longevity, healthspan and vitality. It is a key co-factor in energy production, critical for maintaining healthy DNA and is present in every single human cell. It declines as we age, in particular after the age of 30, correlating with that drop off you may feel as you leave your 20s! In advanced age, NAD levels become very low and drop off a cliff in the final stages of life.
Importantly, many factors affect NAD levels, and without testing it properly with an intracellular NAD test it is not possible to direct treatment accurately. Yes... you absolutely can boost your intracellular NAD!
It is recommended to test before (for a baseline) and at least 3 months after instituting appropriate treatment. We provide a discounted twin-pack for this purpose.
Included in the price:
- NAD test kit with instructions
- Free shipping within Australia
- Free pre-paid shipping satchel to the US
- Customs forms completed for you: takes the stress out of the process!
We are official providers of Jinfiniti tests in Australia. We ship the tests from within Australia to you, and streamline the process of you returning your sample to Jinifiniti's US lab, including customs forms. Read more in the drop-downs below.
1) We ship the test/s from our Australian warehouse to you for free.
2) Perform the finger prick blood test at home on a Sunday night or Monday morning so you can send it at the start of the business week.
3) Follow the instructions for drying and packaging. Sign the label and customs form we have pre-populated. Drop the package over the counter in the supplied pre-paid satchel at Australia Post as soon as possible.
4) The package will return to Jinifiniti labs in the US. You'll be notified via email when your results are available (within 2-3 weeks of sending the parcel).
We like to see intracellular NAD levels in the range of 50-100 μM. The aim is to restore NAD levels to those of a healthy teenager whilst avoiding excessive levels.
You might be wondering, why not just take NAD boosting supplements or use other strategies to optimise NAD and don't bother testing?
Unfortunately, in medicine, things are never quite that simple. In short: everyone has different starting levels of NAD, everyone has different responses to supplements, some supplements/forms have very poor bioavailability or are of very poor initial quality, and dosages may need to be increased or decreased over time. Finally, over-supplementing (whilst less common) to very high NAD levels, is unchartered territory and not recommended.
Given the profound importance of NAD to healthy aging, it isn't something you want to be guessing on...just like you wouldn't want to guess what your potassium level or haemoglobin level was when you went to see your doctor.
Dr Steven Musca (MBBS, FCICM) is looking to offer formal health optimisation and longevity medicine consults in the future.
In the meantime, if you would like to register your interest or book a short consult for NAD results interpretation and 'where to from here', send an email to steve@getweknow.com.
